13 years ago when i was 10 i left school early that morning and ended up spending ALL day sitting in a hospital waiting room waiting patiently for my one and only brother to be born! So finally after what felt like 10 years of waiting he was finally born. Brandon Sam Brackett! I was one of the first to hold him and i made his name plate for his little bed they put in front of the window! :) But now he is turning 13 today and i still love him just as much now as i did when my dad put him in my arms for the first time! Happy Birthday Bubba!

Going old school!

OK my my precious 2 year old niece Lexi came home from a long day of Easter egg hunting with baskets full of candies. But only one caught my eye, a watermelon Ring Pop! I saw it and immediately reverted into my 10 year old self, ran over grabbed it out of her basket and proceeded to hide it in my room for later enjoyment! And i have to admit this is the best ring pop i've ever had the pleasure of wearing on my pinky!

Why Hollywood, Why?

11:43 AM Posted by Jeremy Heath 0 comments
Everywhere i turn these days im seeing adverts for "new" movies, but the thing that pisses me off is that the movies being advertised aren't in fact NEW! Apparently Hollywood is unable to come up with an original idea for a movie so they look to every other country in the world to see which of their movies they can steal and turn into a huge pile of crap! Why Hollywood, Why must you take perfectly good, often great, sometimes brilliant foreign movies and try to "put an American spin" on it? You can't put an American spin on a foreign movie, for if you could it would have been made in America! Now I've seen my fair share of rumors floating about on the internet talking about an American remake of some amazing Japanese films like "Old Boy" and "Battle Royale". I can say now that those movies will never be made in America because for some ungodly reason the majority of Americans don't like anything more hardcore than Barney the Dinosaur! And there are even rumors of bringing the hit E4 British Teen Drama TV show "Skins" to America and i can say now that show wont last long at all because all that show is is bad language sex drugs and alcohol, and its one of the best shows I've ever seen, but the FCC would never allow that show on American television because god forbid kids learn what its like outside their posh gated communities! So in conclusion American remakes of foreign movies (and sometimes even our own) are 9 times out of 10 complete shit!

Heres a list of movies that are Doomed to fail because we're doing a remake:

Death at a Funeral- awesomely funny British comedy turned into just another Tyler Perry black power movie!
Old Boy- its been reported that Steven Spielsberg and Will Smith are doing a remake of the 2003 Japanese movie...and even though Smith is awesome this movie will fail!
Let the Right one In- This is one of my favorite movies ever made. This is a Swedish vampire movie, and i dont mean the sparkly depressed vampire, i mean real vampire...kinda. The vampire is an 11 year old girl! The movie isn't all about gore and carnage its a beautiful movie about friendship...and some gore and carnage! :) but now its being remade in America and although the cast looks promising, I'm not holding my breath!

Happy Birthday Mama!

Today is the birthday of the woman who not only gave birth to me but put up with all my crap over the years! I love you mama! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

p.s. I bet Heather didn't put your birthday on her blog! Who's the favorite now? :)

What is is about hearing "Mary had a little lamb" or "She'll be coming around the mountain" and seeing an old man in a rusty old truck or van that turns even the grownest of grown ups into a 10 year old? All i know is Chocolate Eclair equals Epic Win!

This is yet another well made fake video game trailer. This one by a comedy group called Therefore Productions. I like the horror/thriller style they have going on and although it is a fake i would totally go and see this movie!

Random Thought on Global Warming

6:37 PM Posted by Jeremy Heath 0 comments
OK we all know that the world is coming to and end in 2012 according to John Cusack. We can all point a finger at who is to blame but the truth of the matter is the blame falls on one specific group of people. Christians! Thats right Christians caused Global Warming. We hear people talking about our "Carbon Foot Prints" but i know i don't leave any foot prints because i drive everywhere i go but we always hear Christians saying they have Jesus walking beside them. Thats means they are leaving TWO sets of prints on this world! So in conclusion Jesus and Christians = Global Warming! Suck on that Al Gore! :)

Lets talk kids

For the love of food!

OK blog people i have found the newest entry into the Heath Brackett Hall-o-Food! A few years ago i was taken to a Hooters in the downtown Memphis area and was told to try a "fried pickle" Obviously i was taken aback by the idea of deep fried pickles but after the first bite i was in food heaven and i was being greeted by a naked Rachael Ray and loving every second if it! so now im on a quest to find the best fried pickles...but sadly ive only been able to try these delicious delights from about 5 different places! But i have a new goal...to make the perfect fried pickle myself! So if anyone out there in the blogging world has an idea of how to make the perfect fried pickle let me know! and i will keep you updated on my journey for the perfect fried pickle! :)

Vacation destination one

OK after watching an episode of the SyFy show Destination Truth i have decided that i want to visit the reportedly haunted Forest of Aokigahara in Japan. Its at the base of Mt. Fuji and its reported that hundreds of people go there every year to commit suicide and is called "The place to go to die." In 2002 alone 78 bodies were found! Nice huh? Its the 2nd most popular place to commit suicide with 1st being the Gold Gate Bridge! Good ole' USA! So not only do you get to camp at the base of one of the most famous volcanoes in the world but you could run into the girl from the ring! :) So for now im holding off on any and all plans to visit the UK to concentrate on getting up the money for what is sure to be the best camping trip EVER! If you would like to donate to this fund just let me know and who knows maybe ill even let you tag along! :)

The New Who

5:20 PM Posted by Jeremy Heath 0 comments
For those who did not believe me when i said i was a nerd, well here is your proof. My first entry into this blog is about Doctor Who! Yeah who's a nerd now! :)

For British fans and those faithful American fans im sure you will all join me in my nerdy bliss over the premiere of the 5th series (or to those hardcore Whovians the 31st season) of Doctor Who where we will get our first glimpse at the 11th Doctor. I don't know about the rest of you but even though im very sad to see David Tennant leave the TARDIS, im very excited to see how well Matt Smith handles the role being that he is the youngest person to play the part, but from what i can see from the trailers and other clips from the show he seems to be fitting in quite nicely.

So Amy Pond is the new companion and she looks even younger than Matt but they seem like a great team so dont count her out yet. Now if we can travel back a little bit and talk about past companions that would be great. Can anyone tell me why most Doctor Who fans loved Rose (Billie Piper) so much? She was ok in the beginning with Christopher Eccelston but got way too attached with David and was just plain out annoying and whiny in the finales! I believe Donna (Katherine Tate) was the best companion because they didnt try to make a love connection between her and the doctor. Her acting was spot on, her emotions felt real and her character and the Doctor were equally funny and an all around great match!

So all in all im excited about the new series and cant wait to watch it. I'll put the trailer at the bottom in case you havent seen it and for those who dont know when the new series begins ill be happy to inform you. It start April 3rd in the UK and April 17th on BBC America (unless you know where to look online lol).

Be gentle with me im new! :)

Im Heath Brackett im 23 originally from a small town in Georgia but now residing in Mississippi (remember when spelling that back in school made you an insta genius haha). Ill be talking about the latest Hollywood gossip, ill be doing a lot of talking about movies and TV shows because im a huge nerd and i watch way too many movies and way too many shows (mostly british!) and anything else i can think of and need to vent about! So sit back and i hope you enjoy.
